REPUBLICANS, DEMOCRATS, and  DONALD TRUMP
Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mike Huckaby, and Capital Gains Tax Cuts (Cont. from Economics 101)
(May 7, 2008)

In the early 1970's, Robert Ringer wrote a hugely popular How-To book entitled Winning Through Intimidation. No longer in print, I quote this book from memory, the gist of which was that ordinary people can turn the tables on the loudest voice in the room guy, and wind up with our share of "the goodies" through the use of our own intimidation.
Ringer warned us of three types of people with whom we will have relationships in our lives. Speaking colloquially, Ringer describes them thus (again, from memory) in the context of your mutual relationship:

Type One Person:    This person will honestly tell you he will work with you and promises to get you your share of the goodies, and genuinely is distressed for you when HE winds up with all the goodies.

Type Two Person:     This person will  tell you he will work with you and promises to get you your share of the goodies,  but in reality, he wants ALL the goodies, and doesn't care one bit if you don't get anything.

Type Three Person:   This person lets you know that he is out to get his goodies AND YOUR goodies, and actually feels he has lost if you wind up with anything.

The ensuing 200 pages of Mr. Ringer's book tell you that, . you need to look out for yourself.

Too many Americans take their elected officials at their word, and wind up paying the price almost everytime.

NOW, NOW, DON'T JUMP AHEAD. HEAR ME OUT.

What does this have to do with the  links "ECONOMICS 101" and "DUMP BOTH PARTIES?" That brought you here?

Think of the Political Parties in the context of Mr. Ringer's three types of person.

TYPE # 1 - REPUBLICANS

Republican politicians believe they are doing  the right thing for the people they represent. With a general belief in 'less government,' Republicans obstensibly try to keep the government out of our business, but with some exceptions, most Republicans vote right along with Progressives for programs and governmental regulation, particularly if those votes will help them get re-elected.

Party first, getting re-elected second . . . . .    (I digress).

So, when a Republican like George Bush throws billions more money after an already-failed public education system, or John McCain votes for a bill for amnesty for illegal immigrants , and the (heartless?)  American People wind up losers in the deal, they really meant well and they are truly sorry you didn't get your goodies.

Too often, as in the cases I have presented on other pages, Republicans, whose freight train is driven by an anti-government engine, will push a philosophy based on their ignorance ( e.g. Free Trade; Capital Gains tax cuts ). People like Hannity, Limbaugh, and Huckaee, who have no business experience whatever, take the word of friends and 'experts' who, while seriously degreed, themselves haven't any actual business, military, or, for that matter, life experiences, just political connections  (Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Bill O'Reilly, Sweeny Todd).

TYPE # 2 - PROGRESSIVES
(Can you say "Rahm Emanuel?")

Progressives (hereinafter, Democrats') too often tell you what you want to hear in order to get elected, then vote any way they want, relying on a compliant media to cover their butts. Democrats haven't always been so sneaky. Presidents Wilson and F. Roosevelt let it be known that they thought the American People were too stupid to make their own decisions, and that they, the Progressives and big government had the answers. They didn't have to fool everyone (fooling some would suffice).

But along the way, two events occurred: (1). Socialism and Communism, the underlying philosophies of Progressive thinking failed. The Soviet Union became the first major country in history to go under without  a shot being fired, preceded by the loss of favor of Socialism in Great Britain under Margaret Thatcher. (2). The defeat of the Democrats in the White House, and both Houses of Congress after 60 years of almost uninterrupted rule.

When Republicans took control in 1994 under the Gingerich Revolution, the Progressives were out in the cold, and they weren't one bit happy about it either.  While Republicans had bowed and scraped and offered 'Bipartisanship' to keep the runaway Socialist/Progressive train from jumping the tracks, for the previous 60 years, Democrats openly declared that the American People 's vote to remove them from office was caused by the failure of Progressives to get their message out, and that they, in the words of the imminent philosopher, James Carville, were going to "make waaawaarrr on the Republicans until they were voted out.

And make waaaaarrrrww they did. With help with a sycophant media, they bashed Republicans at every turn and marched in step against anything the Republicans proposed, including fighting terrorists. In doing so, they needed to stretch the truth: The economy is the worst it's been since the Great Depression; the Bush War in Iraq is unwinnable; the country is less safe than when Democrats governed; four legs good, two legs bad.

Of course, as only Republicans can do, they governed timidly and poorly, and combined with the media-aided untruths, Progressives won their power back starting in 2006. By now, lying was an artform for Progressives. So you 'hope' they are telling the truth, but they're not (click here) . So, type 2 keeps your goodies, and they don't even care.

TYPE # 3 - DONALD TRUMP

Let's say you're a businessman, and you want to make a deal with another businessman; say, Donald Trump. Mr. Trump will let you know up front, he is out to win all the marbles. He wants his goodies - he wants your goodies. Shall we deal? A lot of people deal with Mr. Trump. Ask yourself; do I want to deal with a type one, or a type two, who claim they want me to get my goodies, but wind up with everything, while I get nothing?

I think not. Donald Trump doesn't try to fool you. He won't try to screw you. He WILL let you know up front that he is out to win. With a type 3, you know where you stand. With Republicans and Democrats, you are in the dark.

Party first, reelection second . . . . .

LESSONS ?

The Democrats will lie to you. The Republicans are uninformed. Either way - they get your goodies. Deal with Donald Trump, and you have a chance.

Throw them all out.
Does it really matter if their intentions were good? If you and I lose our standard of living, our way of life , or our freedom, will we feel any better if progressives meant well?

THE FIRST ADVICE RINGER GIVES IS: DON'T ASK YOUR LAWYER FOR A BUSINESS OPINION. HE'LL SAY NO !!. IF HE SAYS "GO AHEAD" AND YOUR BUSINESS VENTURE FAILS, HE FEARS A LAWSUIT. IF HE ADVISES AGAINST A BUSINESS DEAL THERE IS NO CHANCE OF FAILURE - OR A LAWSUIT.

NO RISK, NO GAIN. YOU ARE THE BUSINESSMAN  -  HE'S JUST A LAWYER
